We booked a private tour covering the Elephanta caves tour, sightseeing tour, religious tour and Shopping/markets tour. The planning and organization was truly professional. Our guide Sahil was very nice, highly knowledgable and experienced, though on Elephanta the tour included an excellent local guide. The overall tour was amazing and fine-tuned to our wishes. With Sahil you are in good company. He did everything to get the maximum out of the program. The separate driver was excellent as well, with pick-up and drop-off at our hotel.
We booked the Elephanta Caves + City Tour combo and had an amazing time! Our driver was Shamsher and he picked us up promptly from our hotel, plus deftly navigated the crazy streets of Mumbai during all of our stops. Our tour guide was Ashab and he went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great experience and knowledge of the city. He was funny, energetic, and informational. It was like getting a tour from a friend. The whole excursion was worth it, but know that it’s best to start as early as possible since (depending on where your hotel is) it may take a while to get to the beginning of the tour. The ferry ride to Elephanta Caves also takes 45-60 mins each way, so plan your day accordingly. Magical Mumbai Tour is very professional and we highly recommend it!

The caves were amazing with beautiful views of Mumbai and the surrounding park. Kavita, the guide, was knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with, would recommend this to anyone.
So I have to be honest, my tour guide, Neha, has really been pressuring me to write this review (via text). So here’s the truth. I loved Elephanta island and the caves. I had a tour guide on the island named Trikal (I think) who was born and raised on the island and is a licensed tour guide. He shared fantastic information on the carvings even though he was slightly biased from his perspective as a Hindu. The other person, Neha, was who met me at the Gateway of India for the ferry and accompanied me on the ferry and back on the ferry. She was a quiet and mellow, mild-mannered young woman who loves the island. She came from Mumbai and met me easily. She didn’t take the steps up to the caves but she waited for me and then accompanied me back to Mumbai on the ferry and waited with me until my ride arrived to pick me up. We also rode the small train together from the dock to the entry of the island at the famous “120 steps”. All in all, I really enjoyed the island and the tour was great!
