UNESCO World Heritage Site, in Maharashtra. one has to take a ferry to the islands which make up for a joy ride for everyone. There are seven caves there. During winter months from November to February are the best time to visit the caves.
We booked a private tour covering the Elephanta caves tour, sightseeing tour, religious tour and Shopping/markets tour. The planning and organization was truly professional. Our guide Sahil was very nice, highly knowledgable and experienced, though on Elephanta the tour included an excellent local guide. The overall tour was amazing and fine-tuned to our wishes. With Sahil you are in good company. He did everything to get the maximum out of the program. The separate driver was excellent as well, with pick-up and drop-off at our hotel.
We booked the Elephanta Caves + City Tour combo and had an amazing time! Our driver was Shamsher and he picked us up promptly from our hotel, plus deftly navigated the crazy streets of Mumbai during all of our stops. Our tour guide was Ashab and he went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great experience and knowledge of the city. He was funny, energetic, and informational. It was like getting a tour from a friend. The whole excursion was worth it, but know that it’s best to start as early as possible since (depending on where your hotel is) it may take a while to get to the beginning of the tour. The ferry ride to Elephanta Caves also takes 45-60 mins each way, so plan your day accordingly. Magical Mumbai Tour is very professional and we highly recommend it!
