A brief discussion was had and off we went for the tour.

Magical Mumbai Tours’ Magical Mumbai Tour
We booked the 9 AM private Mumbai tour. It was a great experience and our guide, Shruti, taught us a lot about the city, even getting insights and backstories on buildings, monuments, and locations that my partner, who was raised and lived in Mumbai for more than a decade, did not know, while also confirming or improving the accuracy of stories my partner told, showing the incredible depth of knowledge our tour guide had.
We drove (and even parked with a safe way to exit the vehicle!) all over the city without any hassle despite Mumbai traffic thanks to our incredible driver Wasim, stopping at several points of interest along the way, including areas such as Dhobi Ghat, Crawford Market, Marine Drive, Malabar Hill (including the Hanging Gardens and the Kamala Nehru park), Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Railway Station, the Gateway of India, and Oval Maidan, also including the Mani Bhavan museum where we were given more than ample time to explore the museum by ourselves, which I feel like was a very nice addition.
The full tour took us a little less than 4 hours, as traffic was not super constraining (thanks in part to our excellent driver) at the time we booked (and we are pretty brisk walkers) and the efficient handling of the parcours by our tour guide, while still having ample time to take pictures (including of us), ask questions, and hear all about the location we stopped at. There is also an option for different packages (such as a visit to the slums, or a group tour) which I cannot review, but I would say that the private tour is definitely worth it if your group does not consist of more than 3 or 4 people.
I believe based on the points of interest we’ve seen, the depth of knowledge of our tour guide Shruti, the skill of our driver Wasim, and the overall experience during our time with them, the price is worth it.
One thing I do recommend though, if you want to take good pictures, or want to have the staff take good pictures for you, ideally you would want to hit the scenic spots at times like sunset or when the sun is not directly in the way of the buildings/monuments as our picture in front of the Gateway to India was overshadowed (literally) by direct sunlight; do keep in mind that this is around peak rush hour so it can heavily impact the duration of the tour.
