We had a really interesting day with Shruti as our guide and Hussan as our driver. Shruti was knowledgeable and responded to all our questions whilst giving a great commentary about the places we visited. We saw some amazing sights and learnt so much. Hussan managed the crazy Mumbai traffic well. Overall a wonderful introduction to Mumbai!
The perfect introduction to the “City of Dreams”, its people and stories
The Private Mumbai Sightseeing Tour was the perfect introduction to the fascinating city of Mumbai. Starting with my hotel pick up, my friendly, polite and knowledgeable guide, Gautam, introduced me to the contrasts of the city, from the seven-star Taj Hotel and reminders of the British rule, to the Dhobi Ghat, the world’s largest open-air laundry. I was then taken on a private tour of the Dharavi slums by Sneha, one of the local residents, who spoke eloquently and passionately of life there. Rather than feel like I was intruding, I was struck with the sense of collaboration, community and entrepreneurship in what is one of the largest slums in the world and, conversely, a billion-dollar industry in plastic recycling, textile production and leather working. My excellent driver for the day was Dildar, with navigated the Mumbai traffic with attention and care.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Mumbai private tour to get a sense for the “City of Dreams” that is Mumbai in all of its messy chaotic beauty, but, more importantly, the lives and stories of the people who live there. *****
Great Immersion into Mumbai!
Shruti was great and custom tailored my tour to adjust for the rainy day. It was my very first day in India and I felt like we covered a broad range of sites including temples, a market, several historic sites and the Gandhi Museum. The driver Ismail was very accommodating and efficient, dropping and picking us up with zero wait time which is amazing on this city with such traffic chaos.
